A2X Alternatives for Amazon Sellers

Cheaper and more UK-focused ways to get Amazon settlements into Xero — and how to switch safely.

Last updated: 19 September 2026

Short answer: the main A2X alternatives are TrueBooks (UK-focused, Amazon and Xero only, from £9.99/month + VAT), Link My Books (multi-channel, Xero and QuickBooks Online) and Taxomate (low-cost, also supports Wave). For a UK seller who only sells on Amazon and uses Xero, TrueBooks costs less than A2X at every order volume and goes deeper on UK VAT.

1. TrueBooks — best A2X alternative for UK Amazon sellers on Xero

TrueBooks imports every Amazon settlement and posts one Xero invoice that matches your bank deposit to the penny. It is built around UK VAT: Marketplace Facilitator VAT, zero-rated exports, the August 2024 change in which Amazon company bills UK seller fees, and a VAT audit view by HMRC Box 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7. You are billed in pounds, most sellers pay £15–25 a month, and there is a 30-day free trial. It is Xero-only and Amazon-only for now. Full TrueBooks vs A2X comparison.

2. Link My Books — best for multi-channel sellers

Link My Books supports Amazon, eBay, Shopify, Etsy, TikTok Shop, Walmart and WooCommerce into Xero or QuickBooks Online, and is usually cheaper than A2X. A good pick if Amazon is one of several channels. A2X vs Link My Books.

3. Taxomate — best on a tight budget

Taxomate has low published starting prices and supports Wave as well as Xero and QuickBooks Online. Note that its plans can upgrade automatically if you exceed your order limit.

Frequently asked questions

Why do sellers look for an A2X alternative?

The most common reasons are price — A2X's published plans start around $29/month and climb steeply with order volume — billing in US dollars rather than pounds, and wanting deeper UK VAT handling for Amazon. Sellers who only need Amazon and Xero often find they are paying for multi-ledger features they don't use.

What is the cheapest A2X alternative?

For UK sellers on Xero, TrueBooks starts at £9.99/month + VAT for up to 200 orders. Taxomate's published plans start from about $14/month. Compare at your own order volume, since all of these tools price by monthly orders.

Will switching from A2X mess up my Xero books?

Not if you set a switch-over date. TrueBooks' migration tool marks every settlement ending on or before that date as already booked, then only posts newer settlements — so nothing A2X posted is duplicated.

When should I stay with A2X?

Stay with A2X if you need Sage or NetSuite, post many sales channels into one ledger, or you are an accounting firm using its partner tools. Those are areas where it is stronger than the alternatives listed here.
