Amazon Halves FBA Fees in Poland and Delays Low-Price FBA in Belgium

In brief: Amazon Poland FBA fees fell in 2024: on 6 August 2024 Amazon announced two fee moves in its smaller EU stores. From 12 August 2024, FBA fulfilment fees in Poland fell by an average of about 50%, as a permanent change rather than a promotion. And the planned 1 September 2024 launch of Low-price FBA rates in Belgium — for items up to €12 including VAT — was postponed to early 2025, with 45 days' notice promised.

Belgium: what the delay means

Sellers pricing cheap items for Belgium on the assumption of lower fees from September 2024 had to keep paying standard FBA fees until the 2025 launch. Low-price FBA elsewhere (Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Poland) wasn't affected.

What it means for your bookkeeping

• Poland fees are in złoty. Settlements from Amazon.pl are in PLN. Record them in their own currency so the fee cut shows correctly, rather than converting at an arbitrary rate.

• Pan-EU placement costs change. Stock placed in Poland became cheaper to fulfil. If you use Pan-EU, compare fulfilment fees by country before and after 12 August 2024.

• Holding stock in Poland has VAT consequences. Storing goods in Poland usually means registering for Polish VAT; the fee cut doesn't change that.

• Budget Belgium at standard rates until Low-price FBA actually launched.
