Last updated: 25 September 2026

In brief: Amazon Low-Price FBA UK 2026 rates give cheaper fulfilment to small, light products priced at £20 or less including VAT. In seven categories, including Beauty, Health & Personal Care, Kitchen and Books, the limit is £10. The saving runs from 24p to 40p per unit on the UK rate card effective 1 July 2026.

Amazon Low-Price FBA UK 2026: who qualifies

Price is the main test. The limit includes VAT.

Category group UK price limit, including VAT
Most categories £20
Beauty, Health & Personal Care; Kitchen; Books; Grocery and Gourmet; Office Products; Amazon Device Accessories; Business, Industrial and Scientific Supplies £10

Size also matters. Low-Price rates only exist for envelopes up to 960 g and small parcels up to 400 g, and the lower fees are compared with standard rates for items shipped locally. Amazon uses the unit weight for these items, not dimensional weight.

Large envelope, up to 960 g £2.42 £2.72 £0.30

Since 17 April 2026, Amazon has also added a 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge to FBA fulfilment fees in the UK.

A worked example

An illustrative example: a seller ships 2,000 card games a month, shipped locally and priced at £12.99. Toys and Games has the £20 limit. Each is a small parcel under 150 g.

  • Low-Price FBA: 2,000 × £2.67 = £5,340.00, plus 1.5% = £5,340.00 × 1.015 = £5,420.10
  • Standard FBA: 2,000 × £2.91 = £5,820.00, plus 1.5% = £5,820.00 × 1.015 = £5,907.30
  • Monthly saving: £5,907.30 − £5,420.10 = £487.20 before VAT

If the seller raised the price to £20.99, the product would pay standard FBA rates instead, so at the same volume the whole £487.20 would go back into fees. Our 2023 article on Low-Price FBA replacing Small and Light covers how the programme started.

What it means for your bookkeeping

  • Same account, different rate. Low-Price fees are still FBA fulfilment fees, so they usually go to your FBA fees account. Track fee per unit by product, as that is where the saving shows. Our FBA bookkeeping guide sets out a fee account structure.
  • Price changes move fees. A product that crosses the price limit can show both rates within one settlement. Before you query a fee jump, check the selling price history for that product.
  • VAT is unchanged. Since 1 August 2024, UK fulfilment fees billed by Amazon carry 20% UK VAT, whichever rate applies, reclaimable as input tax if you're VAT-registered.
  • Budget for the surcharge. The 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge sits on top of the rate. Include it when you check fees in settlement reconciliation.
  • Keep the evidence. Save the rate card and your price history. You need both to show why a unit fee changed between periods.

Do you need to do anything?

List your products priced near £20, or near £10 in the lower-limit categories. For each, compare the extra margin from a price rise with the fees you would lose.
