Amazon's VAT Transactions Report Moves to In-Month Downloads

Announced by Amazon on 26 October 2026. You no longer have to wait for the 3rd of the next month, but a report you've already used for VAT may later be updated.

Last updated: 26 October 2026

In brief: the Amazon VAT Transactions Report (AVTR) can be downloaded during the month from 3 November 2026. Until now each month's file arrived on the 3rd of the following month. A request now covers data that stops three days short of the day you ask for it. Two columns are added: one records when Amazon last processed each line, the other holds Poland's government e-invoice number.

The 2026 VAT Transactions Report changes at a glance

AVTR is Amazon's line-by-line record of taxable events across its European stores and fulfilment network: sales, refunds, returns, stock movements between countries and fees. Sellers and their advisers use it for VAT reporting. Amazon leaves it to you and your tax adviser to decide when the data is ready.

Before From 3 November 2026
When data is available 3rd day of the next month Any day, with data to three days before you ask; ask again for the same dates to get the current version
TRANSACTION_UPDATED_DATE Not in the file Date (UTC) Amazon last processed the line
GOV_INVOICE_ID Not in the file Government e-invoice number, Poland (KSeF) only for now

Amazon's help page describes this as a beta that is reaching accounts gradually, so it may not appear for everyone on 3 November. The forum notice gives that date without the caveat. If the option isn't showing, the monthly timetable still applies to you.

An example timeline

A seller with a VAT quarter ending 30 November 2026 wants a figure before the period closes. On 20 November they request AVTR from 1 to 17 November and get a working total for those 17 days. Under the old timetable, nothing for November existed until 3 December.

A request on 1 December still only reaches 28 November. Amazon also says the bulk of lines are finalised within roughly 30 days after a period closes, so a few November items may turn up later.

What it means for your bookkeeping

Pick a cut-off and stick to it

A file you downloaded can now be overtaken by a newer version. Agree with your accountant how long after the period you'll wait before filing. Then save the exact file you filed from, with its download date, as your evidence.

Use the new AVTR column to find late changes

Download the period again after filing and filter TRANSACTION_UPDATED_DATE for anything later than your first download. Those lines show what moved since you filed. Agree with your accountant how to treat them.

Don't expect AVTR to match your settlements

AVTR places a sale in the month it shipped. The All Orders report uses the order date, and payment reports use the posting date. A sale ordered on 31 October and shipped on 1 November is a November line in AVTR but an October one in All Orders. That gap is timing, not an error; Amazon settlement reconciliation walks through the payout side.

Fees still lag

Amazon's monthly report carries fee lines for the month before. It hasn't said whether an in-month download changes this, so don't rely on a mid-month file for this month's fees.

Keep the Polish e-invoice numbers

If you have transactions in Poland, the GOV_INVOICE_ID column gives the number from KSeF, Poland's national e-invoicing system. Keep it with your sales records for those transactions.

Do you need to do anything?

No action is needed. From 3 November, check whether in-month dates are offered when you request the report. Before your next VAT return, set your cut-off and check your figures against the Amazon VAT return boxes guide.
